Region blooms at Chelsea

The award-winning North East England Passion Garden - which received a Silver award for its courtyard display, is in full bloom at this week's RHS Chelsea Flower Show to celebrate the launch of the region's new North East England Garden Guide. The 2006 free guide, available from June, is filled with information on the North East's strong gardening product and will be supported by a high profile media campaign in quality nationals and targeted press. Worldwide advertising opportunity - England's North Country Guide

With a stunning new layout, high quality design and support from a £2m international marketing campaign, the England's North Country Guide for 2007 will promote North of England's destinations, attractions and accommodation on a worldwide stage - and you could be a part of it.

There will be 150,000 copies printed and distributed by England's North Country (ENC), the organisation responsible for selling the North of England - covering North East England, England's North West and Yorkshire, to Europe and the rest of the World. In addition the guide will be available in electronic format on www.visitenc.com, which attracts more than 1m visitors every year.

And with advertising rates starting from as little as £199 for accommodation providers and £250 for attractions it's superb value for money.

For more information and to see a copy of the North East England section in the current 2006 guide please visit the tourismnortheast website.  In the next few weeks an electronic booking form will be sent to all inspected accommodation providers and attractions in the North East England Tourism Network. Italians Jet2 region

Italian press and media have been invited to experience the passion of North East England, following the launch of a new low-cost route from Pisa to Newcastle today, Friday 26 May. The new route adds to a growing programme of flights from Jet2.com and provides yet another gateway to the whole of North East England - helping to promote the region as an ideal holiday destination in Italy. International visitors on the increase

Since the international launch of North East England, successful campaigns and exhibition attendance have seen promotion of the region on an unprecedented scale. The latest available figures from the International Passenger Survey reflect this with a six percent increase in international tourists visiting the North East. Harry Potter, Hadrian's Wall and other iconic attractions are causing visitors to show an interest in coming to North East England - great news for the region's economy.

With translated information now available on our visitor website www.visitnortheastengland.com, the share of international visitors to the website has increased by 47% since the campaign launch in January. The international team continue to work with the support of England's North Country, EnjoyEngland and VisitBritain - key organisations in the promotion of the UK overseas.
