Holiday and Short Breaks Guide 2007 – deadline extended
The advertising deadline for the new Holiday and Short Breaks Guide 2007 has been EXTENDED to 6th October 2006. To advertise your property or attraction within the Guide please complete and return your booking forms to Different (address shown on the booking form). Autumn Winter Campaign
Planning for the new Autumn Winter Campaign is underway and Special Offer booking forms will be distributed to all inspected accommodation over the forthcoming week. The offer-led campaign is FREE to sign up to and will be supported by a high profile media campaign, including over 1.5 million inserts in national titles, direct mail activity and e-marketing. INTERNATIONAL MARKETING ACTIVITY
Region filmed for German TV
German based NDR TV came to the region last month to capture footage of Tees Valley for a monthly programme, broadcast around Germany. The hour-long feature focuses on interesting characters from around the North Sea. The crew visited Redcar and the Lifeboat Museum, meeting Vera Robinson – an active fundraiser in the region. The TV company are looking to return in October to film scenes from Beamish, The North of England Open Air Museum.
Dutch tour region’s gardens
The region welcomed fifty green-fingered enthusiasts from the Royal Horticultural Society of Holland this week on an organised Gardens Tour with Dutch operator Travel Britain. The tour included Lindisfarne’s Gertrud Jekyll Garden, The Alnwick Garden and Crook Hall and Gardens. The society’s representatives will now return to Holland with a view to add North East England’s garden product in future tour programmes.
E-news reaches Europe
The second edition of the International e-newsletter has been sent to over 700 contacts across Germany, The Netherlands, Ireland and Norway. The www.visitnortheastengland.com website is a favourite with our visitors - over 60% of have added the site to their favourites list in their Internet Browser. The site is continuing to evolve with key enhancements to be made soon on the itinerary planner, allowing visitors to save, email, and print their personalised itineraries.
Image Collection Programme
The FREE photography service for assessed accommodation is underway and in the first week alone more than 120 providers have had high quality images taken of their property. The images will be used by visitnortheastengland.com, VisitBritain, EnjoyEngland and additional Desti.ne delivered websites. The photographers; Jake Walden, Lee Fawkes, Karin Coetzee, and Gayl Keddie are working to extremely tight timescales so please try to accommodate their schedules and image guidelines provided. This is an opt-in service and if you wish to submit your own images please visit www.tourismnortheast.co.uk for guideline information. You can also view reference examples of the photography taken so far. Please note you will be required to complete the photographer’s identification and copyright declaration forms in order to use the images for promotional purposes.
