INTERNATIONAL MARKETING ACTIVITY
NEW International Pocket Map
A new Pocket Map, produced in an easy-to-use Z-CARD format, is now on display at entry gateways across the region, including two international airports, the Port of Tyne Ferry Terminal and onboard DFDS Seaways. In addition the Pocket Map will be displayed at four international ferry ports and used at international exhibitions in 2006/2007. At each entry gateway it sits alongside our new North East England branded carousels, produced to hold and distribute our key brochures and visitor information in an appealing way.
The Pocket Map is available in English, German, Norwegian and Dutch, and forms part of ongoing activity by the international team to raise the profile of North East England in key markets across Europe. For more information please contact Helen Moderate.

Norwegian’s cycle the region
Two Norwegian journalists took to North East England by bike during the last week of July to sample the delights of the region’s C2C route and the new Hadrian’s Cycleway. Taking in many regional attractions on-route, they will now produce a cycle feature for a specialist VisitBritain retail magazine and ‘På sykkel’, a niche cyclist’s magazine in Norway. For more information on tourism PR and press visits to the region please contact Val Lowther.
