Transport and Connectivity
We are continuing to focus on transport and digital connectivity, looking to improve accessibility and the take up of broadband. We will strive to improve connections between our urban core and national and international destinations, establishing improved links to European and global economic centres.
This will, in part, be achieved by continued investment in air route development and working with the Highways Agency and regional partners on road capacity issues, as well as Network Rail and operators of rail routes. We will also work with regional ports to maximise sustainable
economic growth opportunities for the North East.
