“Winning the Contract” is part of a wide ranging programme of initiatives that Government aimed at making the procurement market more transparent, simple and strategic thus enabling more small firms to access, bid for, and win, public sector contracts.

The Centre for Process Innovation - Supply, Installation and Commissioning of a Fourier Transfer Infrared Spectrometer Fitted with an Attenuated Total Reflectance Accessory and Training of Users

This specification is for the supply, installation and commissioning of a Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer fitted with an attenuated total reflectance accessory. There is also a requirement for a computer and the relevant software to control the instrument. Currently, the requirement for the system is to be able to analyse organic layers deposited onto flexible polymeric substrates. As some layers may only be a few hundred nanometers thick, it is vital that the depth of penetration is as low as possible i.e. the utilization of a germanium crystal. The desired analysis range would be 350 to 4000 cm-1. A thermal detector such as one comprising DTGS would be sufficient for our ATR needs. The supplier of the equipment is requested to provide training on the use of the system. Other desirable functionalities if available would include ocompound libraries, ospecular reflectance accessories, oMCT detectors, oFTIR imaging, oTG-IR interfaces, onitrogen purging capability of the sample area othe means to apply heat to samples to monitor output with increasing temperature e.g. for curing experiments. An instrument that can incorporate future upgrades and further accessories would also be desirable. Please quote separately for each of these options if available. Sample Testing - Samples comprising organic layers on polymeric substrates will be supplied for analysis. Interested parties must contact e-tendering@uk-cpi.com to request samples. The samples are to be analysed using a low depth of penetration ATR module, preferably incorporating a multi-bounce germanium crystal configuration.
