Productivity Support

The success of the North East Productivity Alliance (NEPA) and the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) North East will be built upon providing enhanced, specialist support.

During 2006-07, NEPA engineers worked with hundreds of companies to analyse their working practices, introducing changes from the boardroom down to the shopfloor. The NEPA programme helped create 77 new jobs at these firms, safeguarded a further 1,080 posts, supported 576 firms and established 3,778 learning opportunities for employees. As part of the programme of productivity support, we will support significant resource efficiency activities including waste minimisation, energy efficiency, maximising the re-use of waste and developing the recycling sector.
