Newburn Riverside
Newburn Riverside is a development on the north bank of the River Tyne, on the western fringe of Newcastle. The 92 hectare site has undergone a major reclamation programme and has benefited from a £46 million investment in reclamation and infrastructure. When all roads and services are in place, Newburn Riverside will have the capacity for 180,000 sq m of industrial floor space in a strategic environment.
The Estate has planning consent for Use Classes B1, B2 and B8 equating to offices, general industrial, and warehousing respectively. The emphasis throughout is on superior quality low-density development in both materials and design. The park has adoptable roads serving the development sites, which also include foul and surface water drainage, water, gas, electricity and telecom services fully adequate to serve industrial and office/B1 development.
Situated only 4.5 miles west of the City Centre the site provides easy access to the regional road network including Newcastle City Centre and the A1. Good public transport is immediately available with regular bus services including a peak hours express service direct from Newcastle Central. Newcastle International Airport, only 5 miles to the North, has regular direct flights to a number of European capitals, as well as major cities within the UK. Newcastle is also part of the InterCity rail network and the electrified frequent east coast mainline service accesses London in only two and a half hours travelling time. Worldwide and European shipping services are available from the ports of Tyne & Tees.
