Welcome to the North East region’s Carbon Reduction Commitment web portal.
We aim to help regional organisations recognise the full implications of the introduction of the Carbon Reduction Commitment in April 2010.
This portal provides information to companies about the Government’s Carbon Reduction Commitment and also One North East’s support programme for companies – the CRC Simulation Project.
The CRC Simulation Project will assist regional companies through a simulation of the carbon trading process over a 12 month period. The benefits to you of participating include:
- the provision of baseline energy data for 2008/2009 period
- the preparation of a Carbon Management Plan for 2009/2010
- participation in a ‘live/safe’ carbon auction to secure carbon allowances for trading
- regular ‘trading’ opportunities on the open carbon market
There is no cost to companies participating in the CRC Simulation Project. However, we can only support the first 50 organisations to sign up.
